NJ Man Arrested After Allegedly Attempting To Open Plane Doors In Mid-Flight On American Airlines Fight

There is a news article published on what a New Jersey man came to when he disrupted and endangered the lives of passengers on an American Airlines flight. Going by the report, Eric Nicholas Gapco from Delanco New Jersey is accused of performing several disturbing activities on a flight from Seattle to Dallas on the 18th of July. 

As claimed by the U. S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Utah, Gapco threatened and physically attacked the flight attendants and crew members demanding that the plane should be landed at the Salt Lake City International Airport. He was said to have disobeyed directives to remain seated, sexually harassing a flight attendant, being noisy and vaping and making many fellow passengers uncomfortable.

The report continues by stating that Gapco allegedly locked himself inside the lavatory and subsequently made several attempts to open the aircraft’s exterior doors while flying. These acts resulted in him being held by the flight crew and fellow passengers with flexible restraints on his hands and feet for the rest of the journey.

When he was in Salt Lake City, the police arrested Gapco at the airport. He has been charged by the U.  S.  Attorney’s Office for interference with a flight crew and for trying to harm an aircraft. Such an action shows that disruptions can be severe during a flight and also highlights the dangers that may occur to the passengers and the crew members.
