Alaska Airlines Extends Service With New Nonstop Routes From Boise

This year and the following year, Alaska Airlines will launch 18 new routes, three of which connect Boise, Idaho. All in all, Alaska’s new winter-seasonal service is planned to launch on December 19 and will run through March 17, 2025.

Boise–Bozeman, Montana, will be launched on December 19, 2024, which will be another seasonal route for winter travelers. This route is scheduled to run five days a week and it is convenient to access the area north of Yellowstone National Park in the winter. The service has been planned to start and operate until March 17, 2025, to support winter tourism.

Also on December 19, new year-round daily service to Orange County’s Santa Ana Airport will begin for those seeking California sunshine. The new route offers a convenient day of travel for Idahoans to areas of attractions like Disneyland in nearby Anaheim. Worth noting, Allegiant Air also currently offers service on the route.

Seasonal service to Orlando, Florida, will be tacked on for the East Coast-bound traveler. This thrice-weekly flight, beginning January 7, 2025, through March 25, 2025, will get Boise travelers to the home of Disney World and Universal Studios Florida with ease.

In a statement to KTVB Channel 7, Rebecca Hupp, Boise Airport Director, said, “We are very excited about the new routes.” A nonstop service to Orlando, according to her, has been highly requested, and Alaska Airlines did a great job in their overall investment in Boise. That is not the end, Hupp went on to speak highly of the Bozeman route; with its well-oiled timing for winter breaks, she also mentioned that frequencies on the existing routes would spike to destinations like Los Angeles, San Diego, Phoenix, Portland, and Spokane.

The Boise Airport, presently served by nine airlines, offers nonstop flights to 28 different destinations. Tickets for the three new routes are expected to be available for purchase on alaskaair.com starting Wednesday evening.

In addition to the Boise routes, Alaska Airlines announced its inaugural service to Vail, Colo., from San Diego and Seattle, plus new nonstops from San Diego to Reno and from Los Angeles to Kelowna, British Columbia.

These other routes are yet another example of Alaska Airlines’ 35 years of expansion and the increasing need for more travel in the Treasure Valley and other locations.
