Alaska Airlines has revealed its newest lounge at San Francisco International Airport in Harvey Milk Terminal 1, the company announced recently. The carrier said that the new, spacious 1,000-square-meter facility is designed to fulfill the airline’s commitment to growing its lounge network and offer guests an exceptional experience before flying with a unique West Coast vibe.
The firm further commented that the opening of SFO Alaska Lounge shall celebrate the completion of the two-year, US$30 million relocation project to Harvey Milk Terminal 1. This is part of Alaska Airlines’ greater US$3 billion investment into infrastructure refreshes and improving the guest experience at main West Coast hubs.
The carrier marketed the lounge as a calming retreat with a barista station offering bespoke espresso drinks, a modern bar featuring local craft beers and West Coast wines, and complimentary food which includes San Francisco Bay Area specialties such as sourdough bread with spreads and local candies.
Alaska Airlines referred to SFO Lounge, stating that it is now their largest in California, with 55% more seating than the previous location at Terminal 2. The company further added, “The lounge features charging outlets at nearly every seat, thoughtfully designed nooks, Signature Loungers positioned beside floor-to-ceiling windows, and TalkBox booths to make calls or take meetings with a bit more privacy.”.

The carrier said it recently relocated operations to Harvey Milk Terminal 1, introducing SFO’s first automated bag drop technology as a way to streamline the travel experience and support the airline’s long-term goal of reducing lobby congestion. Alaska Airlines added that this relocation will make it the largest carrier at the terminal, positioning the company for future growth in San Francisco, where it currently serves approximately five million passengers annually.
Sangita Woerner, Alaska Airlines’ SVP of Marketing and Guest Experience commented on Wednesday, “Unveiling the lounge with this elegant design in SFO showcases more than two years of relentless commitment toward elevating guest care.”.
The carrier further reiterated the benefits for passengers, stating that customers can now enjoy smooth connectivity with co-members of the Oneworld Alliance and other partners all across the globe for domestic and international flights. From SFO, reports say Alaska Airlines and its partners—Qantas included—operate more than 130 weekly flights to 18 international destinations.
